Profile

Bethia Chua is a Lecturer and Consultant at the NUS‑ISS, specialising in digital health, service design, and healthcare transformation. With over 17 years of experience across public healthcare institutions and community care settings, she brings a unique blend of operational expertise, strategic foresight, and human-centred innovation to her teaching and consultancy practice.

At NUS‑ISS, Bethia leads and delivers courses tailored to the evolving needs of the health and social care sectors and oversees consultancy and applied research projects in areas such as integrated care, process redesign, data analytics, and organisational innovation. Her work also includes supporting healthcare transformation efforts through collaborations with national and community-level partners.

Prior to joining NUS‑ISS, Bethia held leadership roles at Yishun Health, Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, and the National Skin Centre, where she led clinical operations, corporate social responsibility, communications, and strategic planning functions. She has played a key role in pandemic crisis management, policy implementation, and new service development including community dialysis services, stroke care innovation, and cross-institutional collaborations.

Bethia holds a Master of Health Administration from Flinders University and is a Certified Agile Coach and Professional Mentor. She is an active contributor to health innovation communities, a mentor for Design4Impact, and a frequent speaker at industry events and community forums. In recognition of her contributions during the COVID-19 pandemic, she was awarded the COVID-19 Resilience Medal.
